Noelia vs. pronunciation?
Can someone please tell me how to pronounce this name correctly. It is spanish. we are geting a new foster child and she doesn’t speak much english. I have taken 2 years of spanish in hs, but am not sure how to say her name correctly. I don’t want to say it wrong, because it is such a beautiful name. thanks.

that’s what I though, but sometimes it sounds like no-el-ya or no-ale-ya or even
no-ale-ee-ua or no-el-ee-uh

In Spanish you always pronounce each letter. So it would be Noh eh lee ah. If you say no (like know) and uh she may be a little offended because the vowels are very peppy in Spanish, unlike in englsuh where especially aylt the end of a word, we just

Natasha, that’s what I though..all the vowels had to be pronounced, but the nurses at the hospital keep correcting my Mom and i for saying it wrong. They always start out by saying Noel and then something like
no-el-ee-yah or just no-el-yah
