Thought I'd add the reasons I like /dislike the spellings, In case anyone cares.
Katrina- this is probably the most recognizable spelling. I like that she could go by Kat. However, too hurricaney?
Catrina - softer than Katrina, more delicate. I don't like Cat as a nickname though. Kat seems like a nickname, but Cat is an animal.
Catriona- I think this is the traditional spelling of the name, however I am not Irish. Irish names definitely aren't unheard of where I'm from though. Pronunciation issues?
Thanks again

Love Catriona and Katrina, both for different reasons, honestly it would matter more how they each fit with the rest of the name. The Irish spelling Catriona has become much more popular lately.

Catrina got my vote for exactly the reasons you mentioned.I like it's "softness" and the fact that it takes away from the association with the hurricane.
Very pretty!

Hello, a Catriona here. One commenter noted "pronunciation issues"…TOO RIGHT! I have spent my entire life spelling it, saying "Catriona with a C", having it mispronounced and misspelt and others shortening it to "Cath", "Rona" and "Catty". For all those reasons I just use Cat, but yes - it isn't the nicest shortening, and even that repeatedly has to be pronounced as "Cat with a C" (thanks for that Kat Slater from Eastenders!)
Avoid Catriona!
