Ursula vs. as a name?
We haven't found a name that we love as much as Ursula. We had wanted to name a girl Ursula after our favorite author, Ursula K. Le Guin, but we have received backlash regarding this name. With the live-action movie The Little Mermaid coming out soon, is it a big deal to use Ursula?

I think it is only perceived as "ugly" bc of the sea witch in the movie. Everyone thinks of a villains name as un-useable or "ugly" but I honestly think it is fine. I always think of Ursola in "George of the Jungle" instead, which is a positive. Good luck!

Phoebes sister in 'Friends' is also named Ursula. In Germany, it's very old-fashioned. Popular nickname here is Ulla.
