Too popular vs. Not too popular

I love the name Wyatt but don't like the idea of a popular name for our baby. Both of us had very popular names growing up and hated it. Baby boy is due later this year. Is Wyatt super popular right now?

The Top Baby Name is...

Too popular

Not too popular

Wyatt has been a consistently chosen name for boys since 1900.
It broke into the top 100 on the Social Security Administration's (SSA) list of popular baby boy names in 2004.
In 2020, Wyatt reached number 29 on the SSA list.
In 2023, Wyatt ranked No. 47.
Wyatt's peak popularity years were 2019 to 2021 when it sat at 29th place for all three years.

I love Wyatt too! There's a reason it's popular...because it's a great name!

Its not top 20, so no, not even close to too popular.

I don't think it's "super popular" as I can't say I know any (although I'm sure it varies by region). I didn't vote. If you like Wyatt, you should use it.

Wyatt is top 40 I think in America and has been for a couple years now. Regardless of our opinions when you look at statistics it is a common name. There's a way you can google the popularity by your specific state so that way you have an even more clear estimate of how many Wyatt's there may be. But if you don't want "popular", my advice would be to steer clear, but if you love it enough that's just that

Wyatt is popular in certain areas but I don't think it's too popular that it can't be used if you love it. Remember that popularity isn't at the same level as it was years ago. The name pool has expanded enormously so the top names today aren't given to as many babies as in the days of John or Michael.
