I think that it is too cutesy for a boy. I know two female Aubreys.

It used to be a male name but now it's more prevalent for girls.

I went to hs with an Aubrey (girl) so I associate it more as a girl's name but I didn't vote because I know, historically, it's masculine. Fwiw, I much prefer Audrey.

Boy. Do you really want your daughter named a form of Alberic/Alberich?
Aubrey, of Norman French and Germanic origin, means "elf ruler" or "noble ruler." From Auberi, an Old French form of Alberich brought to England by the Normans. It was common in the Middle Ages, and was revived in the 19th century.

Aubrey is 100% mascune, just another poor victim of the boy name on girl fad which is now dated and tired, not to mention rather insulting to girls who probably do not want to be seen as 'boy 2.0'

I'm in the US. I've met one girl Aubrie (adult 40's) and zero boy Aubrey's. So I don't have much of a sample size to work with. I think it could go either way. I'd recommend a recognizable, one-gender name for the middle for clarity.

I've known about ten boys named Aubrey. I've never met a girl Aubrey. Just like Avery, Ashley, Riley or Hayden I just think it's nicer on boys.

I have only know Aubrey to be a girls name in the US. It sounds and looks very feminine.

@namehog I never knew the name Aubrey was around before my great grandma was born

Team green means they aren't finding out if it's a boy (team blue) or a girl (team pink).

Right now, Aubrey is much more commonly used on girls in the US. It's still essentially a male name, though, giving it potential problems for either gender. I'd suggest getting around that by using it for a nickname. Aubriella / Aubrielle nn Aubrey for a girl or Auburn / Auberon nn Aubrey for a boy.

Aubrey is so very male. People have got to stop fad following when they don't know what they're doing.

I would not want Aubrey to be my name if I were a boy.

Definitely girl.

So basically they're raising the kid to be into "nonbinary" bs. Bruh

^ No.
I am waiting until the day I give birth to find out if I'm having a girl or a boy. With the poll results, I'm going to look for another name.
