Jaya vs. Jaia

Hi, we’ve always loved the name Jay for a boy, but now we’ve discovered that we also like Jaya for a girl! We don’t know what we’re having (due in 5 weeks), so we’ll let fate decide on Jay/Jaya - but if it’s a girl, we can’t agree on the spelling. I prefer Jaya as I think people are less likely to mispronounce it, but my husband prefers the more unusual spelling of Jaia. What does anyone think? (It is meant to rhyme with layer, not higher - UK English). Thanks!

Jaia just looks like a misspelling of Gaia

What about Jaelle or Jayla

I think I prefer Jaia, the ’i’ makes it look more feminine. And no I don’t think people would pronounce it incorrectly. Do you need B/G middle name suggestions?

I think Jaya looks the best. I also like Jayla, Jada, Jayna, and the suggestion of Maya Jaye.

I like Jada/Jayda better than Jaya. If you go with Jaya, this spelling is best

You could always spell it Jaiya. We spelt our daughter’s name Kaiya (pn like higher), because we couldn’t decide between Kaia and Kaya. GL.. It’s a beautiful name!
