Genevieve vs. Jennavieve vs. Genavieve
o.k. so I need some help. My husband and I love names that can have nicknames. We both love the name JENNA and we love the name provided above, we just can’t figure out the spelling we want to use. I have found all 3 spellings in every baby name book I have come across so they are not unusual. However, I don’t want something that can cause my future child a headache. Thoughts? And please, be nice. I don’t need any rude comments. Thanks!

For Jenna, you can use Jenna alone (the best solution since it is seen as a separate name now and that is what you like) or Jennifer.
Genevieve is the best and original spelling. That is the one people would expect and know how to spell. Nicknames could be Gen/Jen, Genny/Jenny, Genna/Jenna, or Genie.

Thanks for the comments. I really don’t like the names Jennifer, way too popular. I love Genevieve with the nickname Genna. Good Ideas. Thanks!
I like the spelling Genavieve the best!

I would go with Genevieve. It’s the spelling I’ve seen the most often. I second with others have said- if you love Jenna, maybe you should use that. It’s a legitimate name on its own and you could always use Jen or Jenny as. nicknames. Both Genevieve and Jenna are beautiful and classy imo. GL!

Agreed. Genevieve is the best spelling if the 3 and Genna would be a cute nn from it. Also Jenna would make a great name on its own too.

I think if you are going for Genevieve, since it will be a hard name for the little one to spell and say until she gets older, I’d go for the most common spelling of it. Its unusual enough anyways.
Having said that, Genevieve is a nice name, more likely that her nn. might be Genna.
If you like Jenna both that much the two of you, just go for Jenna alone. Or as I said, Jennifer is the variant of it.
I know a girl who is just called Jenna alone, it works well for her.
