Isla out of your choices. Or Aylee spelled this way. Definite NO to Eilidh! Way too confusing and jumbled. That was the conclusion on your other post.

Still love Eilidh despite other post. Just feels wrong to americanise the spelling. Isla is the other choice. I love both but not sure which matches her brother and our surname the best. Thanks Lilidh

I love Isla! Eilidh- I like the pronunciation but if you live in America, the poor girl would always get it mis pronounced. If you live in a place where the spelling is the norm, then I think you’d be fine. I do actually love both names but Isla has always been a fav! GL

You would have to spell it differently if you wanted the name to be pronounced Aylee! Spell it Aylie or Ailey!

Um, pp its called Gaelic and its a whole language that when you here the pronouciations doesnt make sense but Eilidh is pronounced Aylee. Its like how is Island pronouced I-land when there is an S in it.

Eilidh is a traditional Scottish name of gaelic origin meaning Light. As previously mentioned idh is pronounced ee (eg. my name Lilidh is pronounced Lily). Rodaidh is a diminutive of Ruaraidh meaning Red King. Isla is from the island Islay (pronounced eye la). These are traditional family names which are easily pronouncable where we live in Scotland.

What an ignorant person you are. The name is of Gaelic origin, no wonder it’s spelled differently...and also no wonder you’re too ignorant to know that, u can’t even spell the word absurd.
