Leighton is definitely pn Lay ton, it is a surname. I think it fits better for a boy too and would be cute with Lachlan for another boy (also a surname turn first name)

If you insist on Leighton as a girls name, pick something ultra feminine for a middle name. Then give the boy a definite manly name. Since they are triplets, its good to separate the girl and boy so that when they are young people arent confused!
