elaine ? vs. elayne ?

hello again. i just posted about "e" names that i’d like to suggest to my wife tonight. i really liked the suggestion of elaine. i keep saying it outloud and i really like the way it sounds. some people in my office suggested the alternate spelling. which spelling do you prefer? and what middle names sound good with elaine/elayne? thanks again. --john
