Juliana vs. Guiliana

We’ve decided on Juliana/Guiliana for our little girl’s first name, but are still unsure of the spelling and middle name. These are the ones we like: Harper, Reagan, Hazel and Frances. Please comment on which one you like the best, or if you have any more suggestions!

If you want to pronounce the end like -anna, spell it Juliana. If you want it to sound like -ahna, spell it Guiliana. To pp, Juliana isn’t the "classic" spelling, Guiliana is the Italian spelling. I love Juliana/Guiliana Reagan, my second pick would be Hazel.

We do want it pronounced "ahna", so that will stay. But we’re still unsure whether to use the "American" or Italian spelling... both are beautiful in different ways, but we think that the Italian spelling may be mispronounced.

Guiliana is so much more uncommon. Juliana is coming back into style, so if you want to go with this name I would pick the Italian spelling so that when she is in class with at least one other ’Juliana’ they can say Guiliana with a ’G’ to distinguish them.

Guiliana Hazel is my choice.

yeah I’m a teacher, and we just say the last name, we don’t say "with a G" so I wouldn’t base your choice on that.

anyway, I think the J spelling is prettier and I like the middle name Reagan to go with it. Good luck!

I don’t think that spelling is common, but that’s just me. I’ve personally never seen it and think it would be mispronounced a lot, but I could be wrong! Very pretty name though!

I think Guilana is such a pretty name. I think you should go with that :) The middle names, in my opinion, need to be distinguished by what’s in front of them and what comes after. So it’s hard to say, since I don’t know the last. But if your last name "flows" with Guiliana blank blank then go for it! :)

If you spell it the way you wrote it here, people will call her ""Gweeleeana". Remember your grammar school days and sound. it. out. Also those middle names are too trendy , but of them, I like Frances. Good luck, poor kid.

Guiliana is not a correct spelling anyway.
It would be Giuliana to be Italian and correct.
Guilia is wrong too it's Giulia.

Guys please stop saying Guiliana is Italian. It's not and you're giving out wrong advice.

A simple google will tell you this.
Giuliana not Guiliana and it's embarrassing that 2022 and you can't google it.
