Collins? vs. Kollins?
We are naming our baby GIRL Collins.I LOVE the original spelling but DH feels that starting it with a K will make it look like less of a last name and "prettier" written out. I disagree. What do you think? Which spelling is best?

you’re already set on giving your girl a masculine sounding last name as her first name. Don’t make it worse by trying to spelling it uniquely too.

I prefer it with a C. I admit that Collins is a very unique name, but done right it could be a very beautiful name for an equally as beautiful little girl. I’d make sure to give a more common and feminine middle name such as Elizabeth or Marie so her unique name doesn’t make her feel overly unique.

Collins is a very nice name. It’s unique, but it is still very much a girls name (at least in the area that I live). Kollins just looks wrong to me. Collins seems more like it could be a family name, while Kollins just looks misspelled.
I actually know two girls names Collins. And Collins is the daughter in The Blind Side.
But I would give her a much more feminine middle name like Elizabeth, Caroline, Samantha, etc.

I believe she only asked for an opinion on the spelling, not the name itself. Just because you don’t care for the name doesn’t give you the right to post negative comments on a poll. At least she isn’t naming her daughter some off the wall, celebrity trend name like coco, starbeam, or something like that.

My 3 year old princess is named Kollins. Fell in love with the name in the Blind Side. I spelled it with a K because my first name starts with a K. Also, I was pregnant with twins and wanted both babies to have a name that started with a K:-)
