Brogan vs. Boy Or vs. Girl

I’m having a baby and were not sure if it’s a boy or a girl and I heard the name Brogan yesterday and we both love it for a boy or girl. We also like Braxton If it’s a boy. For middle names we like Chase for a boy. We do need middle name help. I already have a son Brady and a daughter Cali . Thanks

I happen to know a little bit about the name Brogan (it being my middle name). It is Irish/Scottish, can be used on both genders, but is more common on girls, and it means "Shoe" (if that matters to you).

Love Braxton on a boy. Brogan is okay for a boy, too, but I can’t see Brogan on a girl. It’s just not pretty. Make it her middle name if you use it...

My name is Brogan Lauren (girl) Obviously, I love my name and so does most people I’ve met, it’s unique
And sounds beautiful :) Even though it is quite masculine, I suppose it’s such a nice name people can’t decide if it’s for a boy or girl :)

Love the name Brogan it is good with Brogan- Lee as brogan as the first name and lee the middle name. Dudley more ex wife was Brogan-Lane hope this helps

If I ever have a little boy I am going to call him brogan I think it suites boys better as it’s not a very girly name my daughter’s name is Sophie I called her this before it became very popular.

I have a 21 year old son named Brogan and we loved it when we heard it. We live in NS and there are still only a few Brogan’s around. Go for it.

We named our 11 year old daughter Brogan and we get lovely comments on how unique it is. She is just as beautiful as her name.....there is no need for people to post nasty comments about the name - keep these thoughts to yourselves......

My name is brogan and I’m a girl and I know a boy called brogan in my year at school...personlaly they suit both but I love it as a girls name because I have meet more girls then I have boys. You might disagree with me but that’s my opinion ✨

Weve just called our little boy brogan neil after his dad we love it its individual & such a strong name a lot of names are unisex my other two boys are called levi & riley & have heard of girls with those names too my little girl is called maci.☺
Saint brogan was the nephew of saint patrick thats why its a lovely irish name it also means sturdy shoe x

My Son (Number 6) name is Brogan Thomas, He is 24 years old. He is an wonderful person, talented athlete. He played college football. Total Guy!!! If he would have been a girl, He would have been Brogan Suzanne!

Brogan is traditionally a male name. It means ’strong, sturdy’ and was the name of St. Patrick’s nephew. While it has become common place for people to give their daughter’s male names (for example; Kelly, Shannon, Stacey, Ashley were all male names at one point), I still feel this is a particularly masculine name. My son is a Brogan, and that’s why my husband and I picked it.

My brother-in-law is named Satchel Brogan. We are expecting (don’t know yet boy/girl) we’ve had the boy name picked out for years. As far as the girl name we’ve been drawing a blank. We love the idea of passing down family names, the other day we met the only other person with the name Brogan, it was a very pretty/sweet girl! We instantly thought, yes- Brogan can work for Boy or Girl! Yeah! We found our girl name, to keep with the Family - Brogan Gail. I would love Brogan John for a boy too. It works either way!

My name is Brogan. I go by Bea. Please don’t call your child Brogan. It’s child abuse. People inevitably shorten it to "Brog" or "Brogs" and it will go through it’s entire school life being called "Bogey" by the other kids.

I’m about to have a baby boy and am going to name him Brogan. My SO and I love the name and think it’s a unique and strong name. I’m a little worried that people will call him Bro all the time, but people will make nicknames out of any name and Bro isn’t so bad.

My lovely (and very feminine!) 21yr old daughter is called Brogan Rose. We have never had any negative comments and people have always loved her name when they hear it, as does she :)

When I was pregnant with my daughter, my husband asked if I liked the name Brogan for a girl, I did and it stuck. She was always going to be called Brogan from then. Our daughter is now 8 and she loves her name. Since we had her we have had so many positive comments about her name. Her middle name is Rebecca. Cameron goes well as siblings name. We chose that for our son.

When I was at primary school there was a girl in the infants called Brogan so up until now I have perceived it as a girls’ name. Nowadays I watch a female beauty, lifestyle and travel YouTube personality and blogger called Brogan Tate (Tate is her middle name) and have recently found Brogan can be a boys’ name too.

My son's name is Brogen William. Saw the name in a baby book when I was pg and loved its originality. And the fact his older brother is named Hayden...so now I can call out "HayBro" when I want to get their attention.
