not Isla then, as that is pn eye-la.. eisla is the closest, but even that will get mis-pn. The only way to be sure to have it pn correctly, would be spelling it Eesla or Eeslah

As an American, I can say that the only one I even know how to pronounce correctly on first glance is Isla.

Definitely Isla. As you said, it’s Spanish. So everytime someone would comment about the different pronunciation, the simple answer would be "it’s Spanish"! :)

That poster is correct but I’d only use that spelling if you won’t mind saying that EVERY time someone tries to pronounce her name. Also consider your daughter will have to do that for the rest of her life. Unless you live in a Spanish speaking country, then you’d be fine.

Please don’t use Isla if you are not pronouncing it Eye-la. My name was Jana, pronounced like Jay-nuh not Jan-uh. My parents didn’t realize it should of been spelling Jayna. I had to correct people ALL the time. After 25 years of correcting people I legally had it changed to Jayna. Wish I would of done it much earlier in life!!

Spanish is the US’ unofficial second language... I wouldn’t worry about it. ;)

just spell it Isla, i prefer the ees-la pronounciation to eye-la anyway, there’s no point messing up the spelling, i don’t think Eisla or Iesla will make it any easier for people to pronounce

People mispronounce the simplest of names. I wouldn’t stress over it. Name her what makes you happy. :)
