Ryder vs. boy ? vs. girl?

i really love the name ryder and was thinking of using it for a girl, but people have been saying its for boys only. Please vote because the baby is due soon and it is a girl. I need to have other names if I cannot use Ryder. I also need middle names for both boys and girls so If this is indeed a boys name i can use it for future children :)

Snooki’s best friends name is Rhyder and shes a girl. i like it for both. Do what you want,not other people. Ryleigh can be a alternitve for a girl. GL

I know i made a poll earlier and mentioned ryder from j shore and they said that was uncommon and it didn’t count cause it was on jersey shore? i dont know but i can’t picture it on a boy i love it for a girl though. ANY MIDDLE NAME SUGGESTIONS GUYS PLEASE?

I actualy like Ryder for a girl,it’s edgy and cute. I normally do not like boy names on girls. Agreed that Riley would be better for a girl considering you will probably get a lot of negativity for nameing a girl Ryder.

wait so it is officially a boys name? ugh like I really like it for a girl i dont even like it for a boy but i do not want those problems for her growing up with a boy name. Is it at least unisex? I just like it so much i think its so cute

I don’t like it for a girl.
Yes,it does fit the Ryder from Jersey Shore.
People will Hate if we compare to J.Shore.

No name is officaly anything,i believe that people can name there child whatever they may please,it’s THERE child,but keep in mind its also the childs name and they will have feelings and may or may not like there name.

It’s fine for both in my opinion. Make sure you give her a more feminine middle name though.

It’s pretty well known to be a boys name, a pretty bad one though, and it’s even worse for a girl, in my opinion. Sorry!

I love Ryder for a girl. My fiance and I have decided our next baby (boy or girl) Ryder. I absolutely love it as a girl’s name! I think we are actually going to keep our next baby’s sex a surprise (when I get pregnant again) and just refer to him/her as Ryder the entire pregnancy. We are going to use Lee as a middle name for a boy or girl. I LOVE IT :)

We are naming our baby girl Ryder Alison I read people’s comments about the "ride-her" jokes but I think it’s such a great name, not to mention the only name we can agree on :P I hope you went with the name you love and didn’t take other peoples negative opinions on it.

My wife and I are due Aug 19th with a baby girl. We saw snookies friends named Ryder and we were old. Ryder has been been her name now for the last 3 months and will go on the birth cert. I love boys name for girls..!

I love it. Who cares what people think that its only suppose to be a boys name cause my name is Jeffrie Tarin and yes I had some people tease me but I love my name and would rather have a different name than a bland name everyone has. If it’s not their name their going to tease than others will just find something else. I named my son Sylar and everyone loves it and now I have baby #2 and hope it’s a girl to name Ryder! Be you..be unique! Can’t be any mote masculine than Jeffrie being a girls name now and I lOve my name!

My daughter is named ryder. I love it. I think it’s a name that’s close to unisex like cameron, or taylor.
Not a male dominant name like Brandon or John.

Rhyder/Ryder is a good name for both a boy and a girl, however I does sound a bit suggestive, I would more recommend Skylar or Morgan as for middle names:

Ryder Jone
Ryder Ann
But a middle name should be deeper such as a mothers/fathers/grand parents name or middle name
