I live in Ireland. Common names here that are usually associated with the ’lower-class’ are Shannon, Danielle and Nicole. Also, more uncommon names. I know girls named Chantelle, Charlene, Jordan..

In Scotland we have many chavvy names. I’d like to add Jade, Shannon, Jordan, Charmaine to that list. The kind of kids who hang about at the fun fair when it comes to town. Sorry if this offends anyone.

Never judge a book by it’s cover.

You may only be associating names with the lower-class because the people you know with these names are lower-class.

Jose, Pancho, Maria and Juan those are pretty bad. In my culture everyone has these names.It’s like they don’t know any other names.

It depends on who you know to be honest. You may have a crush on a guy named Blake, so then you think it’s awesome. If you know 3 Blakes and they all do drugs you’ll probably think it’s a "lower-class" name.

The only name that I associate as low class 100% of the time is Neveah.

I know people with several of the names already listed who are professional, lovely people. I also know people with classy names that are trashy.

Here in Northeast USA,for girls,names like Destiny instantly get called stripper-names and I have to agree that Jordan seems to be looked down on just about everywhere but only when used as a girl’s name(it’s well-liked here as a boy’s name I think)and of course there’s Nevaeh,probably the most hated name around.
For boy’s I would say it’s Bentley and the whole Jayden,Hayden,Brayden trend that is deemed lower-class.

My name has been called a trashy name and a stripper name on here before. I am neither and don’t plan on starting. The top two adjectives associated with me are smart and funny and everyone thinks I’m the nice girl. I’m waiting to see my name show up. lol

In my own opinion Crystal, Diamond, Treasure, Destiny or any other of those princessy names - and lets not forget Neveah (as if we bloody could) - are exceptionally tacky, low-class names straight from Trash Town.

Anything that ends in -Ray (I know a girl named Taylor-Ray) or -Lee (Jamie-Lee) or -Jo (Billie-Jo)

The only names that screams trashy to me are ones that are misspelled and of course, the infamous Neveah.

But misspelled are the worst! For example, I think Isabella is lovely. But I’ve seen people spell it Yyzzabylla to make it "unique". No, all you did was make it trashy.

The only reason people say these names on this poll is because the name is popular or they know someone they don’t like with that name. Like my name is destiny and I know 2 other lower class people with that name but ask any one I know I am very upper-class! My moms not a stripper (she upper-class too) and my dad is very upper-class. Don’t judge a person by their name!

Im a Australian and we dont seem to have classes...people are just people noone over here judges you by your name.

I don’t think your name limits you as to what you can do and how far you can go in life. I know tons of low class people named Bill, but then look at Bill Gates.. the richest man in America and certainly not low class.

Yeeah, saying "Jessica is the worst." is unnecessary to answering this poll. I know several people by that name. One of them in particular is the most powerful woman and mother I know. She balances genius and unconditional love like no one I’ve ever met. Saying that a name is "the worst" is in very poor taste.

Holy [removed], please stop equating lower class to trashy/bad/shameful. People below the poverty line work really hard just to survive. It’s [removed] to be saying "you shouldn’t consider a name lower class bc you don’t like it" because lower cl[removed]houldn’t even be an insult.
