My name is Collette my parents wanted it be a bit different so gave it the 2 l and 2 t I get a lot of comments on my name people seem to think it is unusual.

My name is Colette! My Grandparent's last name was Cole. Mom also said something about "like the French author?" We are French Candian and Irish. I Love My Name. One "L" Thank You..

Colette is such a beautiful name! The traditional spelling is lovely. I'm not a fan of creative spellings so I personally don't care for an extra L or changing the C to a K. There is the famous writer named Colette, there is a Saint Colette who loved animals and gave to the poor, there is a chef named Colette in the movie Ratatouille... it's a common enough name that most people have heard of it but uncommon enough to still be somewhat unique. It is an elegant name. Great name!!
