Mary Jane vs. Mary-Jane

What do you think of the girls name Mary-Jane? (As a double first name) Do you think it looks better hyphenated or not? We prefer Mary-Jane but friends and family prefer Mary Jane. Nickname would be M.J or Janey. Do you think it goes well with the name Violet & Lily? Thanks

No, I’m sorry, I don’t think Mary Jane goes with Violet and Lily at all! You could go with another flower name like Rose, Iris, Daisy, or Calla, or I think something more frilly and girly than Mary Jane. Something maybe like Natalie, Evelyn, Amelia, etc.

I think it is adorable! I might want to stay away from the hyphen (it could get a bit complicated, especially when she has to fill out forms and such), but if you really love it, it’s not that big a deal. And it is very cute with Violet and Lily. Good luck!

I think it goes good with Lily and Violet, but like the first poster said, there’s two flower names.. I don’t know.. I like it without the hyphen

Personally I’d choose another flower name.But Mary-Jane is pretty as well.If you use it I would definitely do it as a double first name with the hyphen and then still have a mn too.

I think Jane goes okay with Violet and Lilly, but Mary Jane does not. If she will not have a middle name, then you should hyphenate it, otherwise everybody will think Jane is her middle name, and that could get annoying.

I think it’s a super cute name. My personal preference would be MaryJane. But Mary Jane is nice too. Who cares if the other girls are "Flower" names. Maybe one is a flower and the other is a color?
