It’s probably just me, but Roger makes me want to say Row-gr, not Roj-er.

No D

No D. It looks perfectly fine just Roger. In fact, I’ve never seen Roger spelled with a D in it. And it definitely doesn’t make me think row-gr like commenter 1 said.

Yes, D. I just think Rodger looks better and
I have a friend named Rodger, and I said Row-gr at first also. :)

I voted for Roger, but I changed my mind after seeing people almost mispronouce it. I would spell it Rodger so there is no chance for it to be pronounced wrong. Nice name, its handsome and refreshing! Gl!

Thanks everyone! I think we are leaning towards a D. I can’t get rowgr out of my head! Haha. You’ve helped us a lot! His middle name will be Douglas if you were wondering.

No D. I can’t figure out why people would pronounce Roger as Row-gr. Unless they’re illiterate. The only time you see the name with a D is when it’s a surname.

my dads name is roger.it sounds like rah-jer there is no d sound or row sound. No d.

There are lots of words that have a D in them, where there is no D sound.

Dodge for example.

It’s obvious someone voted repetedly for Roger... Probably because they were mad the OP decided to go with the spelling Rodger. Very immature. Congrats OP!

I'm concerned if people genuinely say Roger as Row-gr

I am a Roger my friends call me Rog pronounced "Raj", not Rod. I know a few other Roger's. I have never met anyone one with the first name Roger spelled with a D in the middle. It's a pet peeve shared by many of us Roger's out there.

I'm a Rodger and my name has always been spelt incorrectly as Roger..!! I like the name however ☺️

My name is Roger. If you put a d in the name then it would be said Rod-jer. Roger is said more like Ra as in the ancient egyptian God and then jer as in jerk 😛. It is said more closely to how it's spelled. Why ANYONE would say row jer I have no idea, but I would prefer that to my name being misspelled with a d. The only d in Roger is where we won't speak of.

I never thought Roger was pronounced Rowger. I prefer it with no d as Roger.
