Leighton/Layton vs. how do you pronounce it?
My husband and I like the name but both pronounce it different. Which is the most common? which sounds the best. It is a name we possibly will choose for our third daughter. I PN it Lay-tin he PN it Leigh-Ton. Sisters are Renee Gabrielle(6) and Zoey Elizabeth(3).

I had never heard of the name until Leighton Meester. When I first saw it, I thought it was pronounced Lee-ton, but now that I’ve heard it’s Lay-ton, I would pronounce it Lay-ton (which I prefer). Hope that helps!

Looking at it, what makes sense to me is Lee-ton, since Leigh = Lee.
But I really want to say it Lay-ton, but that’s because in my first language ei sounds like ay.

"Lay-tin" is the only pronunciation of both spellings. I prefer the classy Leighton spelling rather than the phonetic Layton. GL.
