Aiden vs. other spellings vs. for a girl

I really love the name Aiden, but for a girl. I know it is traditionally a boys name, but my name (Spencer) is normally a boys name too. If you have any different spelling that make the name more feminie that would be great.

Aden? I don’t know... Aven comes to mind.

Changing the spelling of a name doesn’t make it more feminine, it makes everything harder for a child. Constantly having to correct everyone on the spelling, what about using Ava or Aven?

According to babynamesworld.com, Adin (this spelling) is a feminine Swahili name meaning "ornamental". It’s also a masculine Hebrew name. The feminized form is Adina, which is lovely. The truth is, no matter how you spell it, most people will automatically think "Aidan" or "Aiden" whenever they hear your daughter’s name. If you’re truly set on it, just spell it Aiden/Aidan.

I’d use Adynn or Aydenn as the other poster suggested. Both of those look more ’girly’ but I still prefer it on a boy...Aylen, maybe?

Adyn definitely:)

I taught a girl named Aidan once, she was adorable. It isn’t that masculine and spelling changes won’t make it any more feminine. I’d say Aiden is a fine speling for a little girl.

She’s gonna be in a class with like 6 other BOY Aiden’s and will be teased for having a boy’s name. Aven, Ada, Eden, Adele, Ayla, etc are similar to Aiden. Plus there are other names that are more unisex that are nice as well.. Jordan, Kendall, Taylor, Leighton, Camryn, Carsen, Layne/Laine, Peyton, Reese, etc.
