I personally like Mikayla or Makayla

I personally like the spelling Michaela, but I have met many others with different spellings, the worse by far was Machala. Which spelling seems right to you?

I don’t see why everyone likes the Michaela spelling I mean it doesn’t even look like it sounds. Makayla looks like it is pronounced and is alot better then just Michael with an A at the end

Usually I like traditional spellings, but Michaela is the one exception for me. I think Makayla looks best. GL

Well I personally like either the Makayla or Micaela spelling but people say they are trashy spellings that only Michaela is a pretty spelling

I like Makayla best. Micaela is nice too, but I’m not a fan of the traditional Michaela either. I also read it as Michael until I get to the a at the end.

I love Makayla/Mikayla and there is nothing trashy about it. I do not like Michaela or Micaela. They are pointless butcherings of a beautiful name and there is nothing pretty about them. The traditional spellings of names are alway much better in my opinion.
I would go with Makayla or Mikayla

Michaela is no way to spell Muh-kay-luh. If you ask me it looks like it should be pronounced Michael-uh. Makayla is much better. Makayla Danielle or Makayla Elizabeth are beautiful.

Well people say the traditional spelling is Michaela but that spelling looks so ugly to me I like Makayla alot better!

There is nothing traditional about Michaela. Makayla is the only way to go.

Michaela is the correct/traditional spelling, like it or not. I’m not a fan of it either, but I don’t like the look of Makayla at all. Makayla looks childish.

It’s a nice name, but I don’t like all the A’s in Makayla, and agree that it looks like how a little kid would spell it if they were to write a friends name down from preschool.

I like the spelling Michaela... I don’t see why names have to spelled so phonetically ’it looks like Michael-uh, Makayla looks how it’s said’. Why is that necessary?
Michaela is the traditional and it’s not going to be pronounced wrong...

Also, if you don’t want your daughter to be called something close to Michael-ah, don’t name her Mikayla/Makayla/Michaela! It’s the feminised version of the name Michael, the spellings don’t remove that fact, they just make it look like you have to spell out the name.

On that note, I think Michaela is a lovely name, you can change the spelling if you want, but I don’t like Makayla, it makes it closer to names like Makenzie.

Michaela is traditional because it is a derivative of Michael. Look up the meaning of Michael: "Who is like God". Although my name is Michael, I spelled my daughters name "Micayla". One reason is because I have 5 children and we all have seven letters in our names. There are many different spellings for this particular name and it all depends on personal preference.

Makayla is absolutely beautiful but so is Micayla.

I pre-date "Makayla" which became popular with the tv show "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman". I hated my name growing up because people would butcher it. Now I embrace the absolute beauty and uniqueness of my name.
