Cy/Ci/Cai/Cye vs. Ky/Ki/Kai/Kye
Naming our baby boy Cy/Ci/Cai/Cye/Ky/Ki/Kai/Kye but can’t for the life of us decide on how to spell it! The name should rhyme with rye or dye and the C/K should be hard, as in sKYE or Kite. Please let us know your opinions as to what spelling is best, how each spelling looks like it would be pronounced etc. I personally lean towards spelling it with a C just because I find K to be more feminine. Thank you so much for the help! Mike and Ellie :)

I prefer Kai or Cai. The other c spellings looked like the c should be pronounced [removed] to me instead of k. GL!

Kai- exotic & handsome Hawaiian name (although it has a few other origins) My hubby was born in Hawaii and we wanted it if we were expecting a boy. Having a girl instead!

Kai- it is an unusual choice, you don’t need spelling variants. Love the name BTW!!! I don’t think it’s too girly at all. The C makes it difficult to pronounce

Cy- pronounced ’sigh’, short for Cyrus, or here in Iowa Cy, the Cylone.
Ci- pronounced ’see’
Cai- pronounced ’k + eye’. In Spanish, this is sometimes a nickname for Carlos.
Cye- pronounced ’sigh’.
Ky- I suppose it would be pronounced ’k + eye’ but it is also the abbreviation for the state of Kentucky.
Ki- pronounced ’key’
Kai- This is the spelling you want!!!
Kye- Probably pronounced the way you want, but it reminds me of "rye".
The name Kai is Hawaiian. There is a name with the same pronunciation that is Swedish. It is spelled Kaj.

My 5year old is Kye but he says he wants to change it to Kai when he is grown up so it is spelt is the same as the ninjago character. I wanted Kai my husband wanted Ky so we settled for Kye Joseph. Overall I love Kye, so hoping ninjago goes out of fashion soon.
