I have a friend whos name is Bret, but I like it better spelt as Brett. so that is my choice.

Bret looks incomplete so I would go with Brett although I like Brent too. Either one is handsome and not quite as popular as many othere names.

What about Rhett instead of Brett?? As in Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind???
I think Rhett is an awesome name very handsome and strong and I bet not very common..

I know the grossest guy named Brent so I don’t like it, I love Brett with two t’s. Rhett is cute too!

Personally (obviously bias) I prefer Bret, because it’s unique in the fact that there isn’t the reitteration of the "t" at the end (it’s pretty pointless). Although, I will say, that while easy to pronounce, the boy’s name will forever be mis-spelled due to the seemingly engrained spelling as Brett within our vernacular. Aside: I have female freinds named Brett, but none named Bret [BE UNIQUE]...just some food for thought!

We named our son Bret. I remembered the old western ’Maverick’ starring James Garner. He played Bret Maverick. It was a very popular show. I also remembered Brett Somers, a female panelist on the old ’Match Game’ quiz show from the 70’s.

My name is Brett, and I agree with it not looking complete as Bret. People do always spell it that way or think I said Brent though, so it’s really up to you either way.

My parents told me when they were growing up Bret was a boy name and Brett was a girl name. I have met about 3 Brett females all over 40yo. But there are a couple famous ones too, all Brett.
