Londyn vs. London vs. Girl

I asked about London a couple days ago and people either liked it or didn’t 50/50. Anyways what why would you spell it if you like the name? I like Londyn cause it wouldn’t be naming after the city but someone said that looked uneducated, which I am not, and would dislike if that was what people thought. I think Londyn looks more feminine then London. TY

I really hate the y spelling it just looks stupid sticking a Y in the middle of a name that does not need a Y. London is in no way a boys name so you don’t have to worry about it looking feminine or not.

Sorry, the first thing that comes to my mind when i hear the name London is a spoiled rich girl like the London from the Sweet Life of Zach and Cody on disnet channel. If i had to pick a spelling I would say London

Place names aren’t something I care for even slightly but London is the better spelling. Throwing a Y in there doesn’t change the fact that her name is London and it’s a city so you really can’t get away from that association.

Throwing in a y doesn’t make a name look more feminine (IMHO). I think the Londyn spelling looks sort of tacky, and I think London seems feminine as is.

I love the name London but only if it is spelled this traditional way.To me it only makes sense that place names should always be spelled the same as the actual place.

London is a place name and unisex. Londyn is tacky. Spell it correctly and save your daughter a lot of headaches in the future. BTW - There’s no such thing as a "more feminine spelling". It’s called a "misspelling of a common word or name". Plain and simple.

The Y makes it look like you don’t know the correct spelling of the city London. I don’t like place names, but you should ALWAYS spell them correctly.

I’ve always really liked the name London. But I do prefer the traditional spelling. I think places as names is so common now that it’s not a big deal if the spelling is the same, and people don’t necessarily associate it with the actual place. Plus, it’s going to sound the same no matter how you spell it, so spelling it Londyn is still going to get the association to the city regardless of the Y instead of an O.

I named my daughter Londyn Elizabeth. I love the spelling it’s feminine, modern and the name itself is not common. I didn’t want my girls name to make the top ten girls name list. It’s pretty, unique and different just like my little one!!

Everyone are entitled to their own OPINION but my daughter name are londyn. I pronounce her name as lond-in.......Lond-on & Lond-in with the y are different.

London is such a common name yet a beautiful name and just because someone choose to spell it Londyn doesn't mean their uneducated.. It's just being different.. My name is spelled Shainelle although people usually spell their name Shanelle or Chanel.. And i love the spelling of my name.. Too many people have my name.Nothing is wrong with being different

I literally can't believe how many "London" & "Londyn" haters there are out there. I think it is a beautiful name. I am very educated and think the spelling of "Londyn" is better and more feminine. I am so sick of seeing all of these boards with people bashing the name and making stupid comments about the child never being able to visit London. It's stupidity if you ask me. Everyone has their own taste, and people who don't like the name should keep it to themselves!

I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd child(1st Girl). I'm naming her Londyn and spelling it with the y. I fell in love with the name. I think people should spell their children names the way they like. It's your child. Forget what anyone has to say or think. The way you spell your child name doesn't make you less educated.

I named my son Londyn and IDC what the name bashing haters gotta say ,I gave him the Y instead of a O ,because of the xy chromozone of that alone being a boy ,period.

I named my son Londyn ,with a Y instead of an O because of the XY CHROMOZONE BEING THAT XY CHROMOZONE IS AUTOMATICALLY A BOY (MALE)
