Hyphenated Middle vs. Name Question!! vs. PLEASE READ!!
If my baby girl has 2 mid names, how does that work? If her name is Lily Kathryn-Hope, on documents would her initials be Lily K. Last name, bcuz its hyphenated, or Lily K.H. Last name, bcuz she has 2 mid names? If its not hyphenated, how does that work? I really love Lily Kathryn-Hope, I just don’t want to go into it not knowing what I, myself, is doing!! Plz give me some advice, my hubby said he has no clue cause he’s never even met anyone with a hyphenated name at all!! Thank you!

If it is hyphenated, it is considered one word, so her initials would be Lily K. If it is not hyphenated, it is two words, so her intials would be Lily K. H.

Don’t hyphenate it looks strange. Just give her two middle names. With two middle names, sometimes the second initial gets dropped on accident because people don’t always look at the second middle name. My nephew has two middle names and that has happened to him. On all legal documents though, he has two middle names.

I don’t want any of her initails to be "dropped". I’d like it to be considered one word, like poster 1 was saying. I’m leaning toward Hyphenating, so it’d be less of a headache for her on documents and such. And none of her initials will be "dropped", like poster 2 was saying.
