I like Lane for a boy. :)

I think Lane is quite nice for a boy, but either as a middle name, or with a good strong masculine name as a middle name
Laine is quite pretty for a girl, but with the same guidelines as above, except a feminine name
eg
Lane Sawyer or Henry Lane
Laine Elizabeth or Vivian Laine

I think of it more as a girl’s name.It’s not bad but I think I’d prefer it as a nickname for Delaney or Elaine.

Lane= Boy, Laine= Girl. Don’t like Layne for either gender.
