All the nns for Callahan are coming up girly, ie: Cali, Cally, Calla, etc. I think you’ll be stuck with Cal unless you come up with a name that’s not associated with his name to call him. Like Ace or Scooter or something random. My cousins name is Bodhi (Boh-dee) and I call him Obi (Oh-Bee) because no one wanted him called Bo and I just took some letters from his name. You can always come up with a nn after he is born. It’ll probably be cutesy at first but eventually it might morph into something he can use for awhile.

Don’t spell Malachy like that. Honestly, if you’re going to use a name with such history, meaning, and rich background, don’t misspell it. Malachy is a great irish name but I think the hard CH just doesn’t go well with the hard C in Callahan.

I am leaning towards the name Callahan Joseph or Callahan Jacob

my brothers and I have 2 middle names.... and 3 of my brothers have 1 of the middle names as Joseph so I am think I am leaning more towards the Joseph one.

How about calling your child, Callahan James

Um, Malachi is a Biblical name...I think this spelling is just fine.
