Lorelei vs. Lorelai

Please help!! We have found the perfect name for our little girl who is due any day. We can’t decide on the spelling, and we need help with a good sounding middle name too. Any suggestions. Thanks much.

I like Lorelai best. Lorelai Gilmore, mom from Gilmore Girls, has her name spelled like this.
To me Lorelei looks like it is pronounced "LOR eh lee". Lorelai looks like it is pronounced "LOR eh lye". I know technically they’re pronounced the same, but I think Lorelai is best.

To me, Lorelai looks like it would say LOR uh lay, while Lorelei looks like LOR uh lie.

Personally, I’d just google both spellings and see if one of them is overwhelmingly more popular, and then use that one, since that’ll be how people end up spelling the name most often.

Hmm, I like both spellings but I prefer Lorelai. I would pronounce them the same, but I can imagine that someone who doesn’t know any better might pronounce Lorelei as LOR-eh-lay, as in a Hawaiian lei.

I much prefer Lorelei which is the orignal spelling. (Lorelai is only quite popular because of the Gilmore Girls).

-lei spelling for sure. The -lai spelling might be pronounced as -lay incorrectly.

I like the Lorelai version best. The above middle name suggestions are nice - ecept for the Leigh one. Lorelai Leigh sounds weird and just a couple of words shy of yodeling.

Lorelai looks like lore-a-lay
Try Loreli it looks cuter than the other two
Regardless, out of the original two Lorelai is prettier!
