Nickname For vs. Oscar

My husband wants to name our son-to-be Oscar, and I’m OK with that. I just want a cute nickname. I’ve thought of Ozzie, but I need ideas. Thanks! -Cadence

I like Oscar a lot.

Ozzie or Ossie would be adorable. Grouch if he gains an attitude :)

And previous poster - Otto is a German name. Not just an Italian word.

I don’t think there is a nickname for Oscar that wouldn’t sound really forced. Some names just don’t have nicknames.

My brothers name was Oscar, and sorry to say, but when he got to be around 13, people started calling him Scar. When he was little we called him Olly, even though it doesn’t exactly go with the name. It was a cute nickname for him though! When he got into high school, people just start calling you by your last name. Whatever you want to call your son is fine with me, but I recommend Olly.

My name is "Oscar". I believe I have one of the most masculine names ever derived from the human language. I used to hate the imature nick names given to me but I learned the ladies don’t call me "Oscar Mayer" for nothing.
I have also been called, Oz, Ozzie, Oss, Osc, Scar, Oscar Wosker, "O", Rosk, Roskie, Ollie, I wouldn’t want to change my name for anything or any one. It was given to me by my Father.

When I was at primary I was called Oz, Ozzie Bear, Osc, Ozzy,and Racso. Best probs Oz, Osc and Ozzy. I would reccomend to call him Osc
