Michele vs. Michelle

I love the name Michelle/Michele, but i don’t know if it should have one "L" or two. The First name is staying, but i after you vote it would be great if you could give me some unique middle names. Nothing to weird but definitely something you don’t hear every day because Michelle/Michele is common. Thanks! -Liana

Personally like Michelle, little partial though, it’s my middle name. Thoughts for middle names that go well with Michelle:
Michelle Elyse
Michelle Rose
Michelle Grace
Michelle Layne
Michelle Maeve?

Good Luck!

My name is Michèle. Please note the accent over the first e. That is the authentic French spelling of the feminine version of the name(the male being "Michel"). Michelle - with two L’s is an Anglicized/Americanized version of the name. So,if you’re going for authentic, do what my French parents did and spell it properly, with the accent. :o)

I was also named by a French mother, so in my mind, the correct spelling is Michele. (Americans added the 2nd L) My middle name is Juliette, after my mother's aunt. :)

My name is Michele Lee, yes the French version because I apparently looked French when I was born and I actually prefer it that way.

My name is Michele and I have no middle name. I'm fine with that and the one L spelling.

I'm a Michele with one L, I was born in 1972 it was a very popular name. 3 of my best friends were 2 Ls. I hated it growing up because I couldn't get a pencil or key chain or other novelty item with the correct spelling. To make it worse my parents gave me the nickname Shelly with 1 E. All the novelty name products were all spelled Shelley. Eventually I learned to prefer the 1L. Almost every time I meet another one L or somebody who knows a one L it's mentioned. It's like we are part of the missing L club. If I have to give my name sometimes they'll ask "one L or two?" I always thank them for asking.

Heh-heh...you girls with the "no hell in my name!" and "no pencils or keychains for you!" anecdotes -- you crack me up and I so can identify!! How about on-line and you're at a live feed Grateful Dead concert and you're trying to flirt with the guy next to you and he starts to wonder if you're really a girl...yup I had that happen, and it was a real mood kill, let me tell you! Luv and stuff, Michele Renee :)

I am Michele. My parents chose to spell my name the French way. I like being a bit different since most girls spell it Michelle. I wasn't given a middle name but if I could pick one it would be Claire. My grandmother's name was Clara and I love the sound of Michele Claire.

👋🏼 My name is MICHELE with one L
& that's how I like it even though I only have a few drops 💦 French in me🤣 Growing up I thought it was pretty cool spelling with one L. As soon as I was born It was My Dearest Dad to be the one that filled out My name with one L1965. Growing up in Texas/America the spelling of one L was rare but now in my 50's I have met a few more Michele's with one L. Pretty cool. Ty EVERYONE for sharing their names Michelle & Michele with one L🙏🏼💝🌻
Sincerely,
MICHELE WITH ONE L🫶🏻

Michelle is my middle name but its what I have always been called since my first name is Toni, after my dad. I was born in Germany so on my birth certificate my name only has 1 L but whoever taught me how to spell my name taught me to spell it with 2 L's. When I see the name Michele, it just seems like something is missing to me. I still spell it with 2 L's.
