Lorelei nn Lyla vs. Just Lorelei vs. Just Lyla

Could Lyla work as a nickname for Lorelei, or is it too far-fetched? We’ve been going back and forth between the two and were just curious. If it wouldn’t work, which name would work better. Middle name suggestions would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Considering Lola is often a nickname for Magnolia, I think Lyla for Lorelei is perfectly reasonable! Lyla will be wonderful with family and friends, especially when she is young and if when she applies for jobs, etc. later in life and would like to have a bit older sounding name on paper, she could go by Lorelei.

It is a stretch, but so is calling Jonathan Jack. It’s pretty. I love Delilah nn Lilah.

It works, I think. I’ve definitely heard of less plausible nicknames. I actually like it.
