Nixon ? vs. ? Nixon

Husband picked out the name Nixon, and I’m thinking that I’m starting to like it. But I want honest opinions about the name and whether or not it should be the first name(Which we are leaning to) or the middle. Any suggestions of names to go with would be great. ~Ellen and Sam

Ann Boo- It’s growing on me too! When he said it, I kept think Richard Nixon.. But it’s been about a week and the more I think about it, I kinda like it.

I think every adult will think of Richard Nixon and Wayne is the most common middle name of serial killers (seriously). I feel really strongly that you should not name your precious child either of these names. Sorry!

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll consider it. But is Nixon really that bad considering people name their kids Reagan, Clinton, Kennedy, and Jefferson after presidents?

I know a guy that was named Nixon because it was his mother’s maiden name. His nn is Nick. Nixon Kyle.

Nikon is a great name. Kids are not going to know the whole water gate thing. My friends last name is Nikon and nobody never made fun of her.

It’s a wonderful name. We just named our baby boy Nixon and couldn’t be happier with our choice. People can put a negative spin on almost any name. The association with the former president meant nothing to us. Most people don’t even think of it. We have received tons of compliments on his name.

I know this is years old and the child in question probably has a name tag in kindergarten by now, but for future potential Nixon parents. I agree with the last commenter. Our son’s name is Nixon Keith and honestly the connection rarely happens and when it does it’s never more than a small joke that never is taken offensively. Keep in mind your naming a human that will have his/her own identity. I would say most people absolutely love it as a first name!
