Boy - Ray, just because of any guy with "Ray" in his name that I have met is a rude, vulgar and mean sort of individual. Even if you will notice on films they use "Ray" for the cruel character.

Neveah, names with creative spelling K’s instead of C’s, Y’s instead of I’s.

Scarlet - red light district, common stripper persona (southern)

Charlotte - "the harlot", common stripper persona (schoolgirl)

Mary Jane - slang for marijuana

Molly - slang for drugs, MDMA

Wendy - slang for a BJ

Any name that is also slang for something illicit or sexual.

Crystal / Diamond / Tiffany / anything "bling" and expensive (Bentley or Royce for boys).

Random words and online user names used as actual names.

I don’t find too many names "trashy, tracky, low class or stripperish..ect" except for the obvious.

I also find the mck- names to be rather trashy. Makenzie, Makenna, Mckinley, Mikayla etc...

Anytime someone uses a acutual name, but changes the spelling. The name then becomes trashy in my opinion.

I live near a reservation and animal names are quite common. I certainly don’t see animal names as "trashy", just largely used in a different culture from your average Joe American.

The name I like is Candace (but not Candy!) And wow, I never knew names likes Molly were slang for drugs! You learn something new every day! Thanks people. X

Misspelt names basically (Izabel, Jamez, Rebeka) and Kylie, Mckenzie, Riley, Tyler, Elisha, Brylie, Vicky, Liah, Demi, Charlie, Harley, Hadley, Mitchell

For girl - any fruit name, like Apple. Any spelling of Cadence. Any name ending in "ie,ly, ley,ee " . Name starting with "Ma, Mc" like Makayla, etc.
For boy - Any name ending with "den", like Camden. Any animal name, Colt, Kolt. ’Made up ’ Names ending with "er" like Ryker, Kyker, Siler. Xavier.

I think Candace is a fine name! And Ithink its sad that ppl will let slang words run beautiful names like Molly. The name was well established before ppl started referring it as another name for "drugs". Also most of theses names ppl are listing to me are normal and far from trashy. Some are even from the bible.

I’m amazed that some of the names people listed are classics. Guess its completely a matter of opinion. I think the lesson here is no names are safe, every name will be considered trashy but at least one person...

A lot of people associate names with people they know. So if someone knew a trashy girl named Abigail, they now consider that name trashy. Which I get but still its silly.

I think when people from lower social economic backgrounds go out of their way to name their child what they consider to be very ’upper class’ names, sounds worse than if they just gave them an ordinary name! Hope I’m not offending anybody, but at one time the name Sophia was considered ’classy’ and so too was ’olivia’ only now due to snobbery people are avoiding these names like the plague, due to their continuous rise in popularity! I think people are sometimes mistaking ’popular’ for ’trasy’ hence the bad association with these overused names...I think it’s a shame, but the fact of the matter is you could name a child ’Genevieve’ this year, safe in the knowledge that it wont be considered ’trashy’ but who’s to say in five years time it’s popularity might soar, and then that too will be making it’s way on peoples ’trashy lists’!

I agree with Roxanne because in TV or movies Roxy was always the drunken groupie at concerts or the drunken lush at parties. That’s what I associate it with! Susannah sounds trashy, reminds me of a toothless bumpkin with nappy hair. I also agree with Harley, and I don’t like Harvey. And thanks to Married with Children because of Marcy Darcy, I don’t like either name.

Delilah. I know it comes from the bible, but she is a legitimate bad guy! It’s almost as bad as calling your daughter Jezebel.

There are very few names that aren't listed from post to post. Feels too much like people are just following the crowd so they don't feel left out. Ignorant. 99% of the names listed aren't in the least bit trashy. But to me, the most ironic, are the ones griping about "misspelling" names. I'm sorry folks, but any way you wish to spell a name is correct. And if you bothered to do a little research you'd find that the vast majority of names used today are spelled very differently from the way they were spelled originally. An attempt to ditch the "old-fashioned" feeling of a name. More ignorance. My opinion? Name your kids what you want to name them, a name you like, and stop judging people by their name. It has less than nothing to do with who they are as a person, and to think otherwise makes YOU trashy.

The old standards are about the only non trashy names to most older people: Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Jane, Katherine, Margaret, Patricia, etc. There as a time, oh, maybe 50 years ago, when more romantic names like Jennifer and Stephanie were coming into vogue. By the way, did you know Molly is a nickname, or diminutive, name for Mary? I agree that last names as first names and stupid, made-up names are trashy, but that changes with the times. Lots of ignorance in the comments above...

Oh my gosh, I hate names with fruits oder with label names like "Mercedes" oder "Pepsi"

She is not happy with her name and neither is the company she works for. Argh... trashy and kinda sad
