Rory vs. Rorie
I want to name my little girl Rorie. Im afraid if I spell it this way it will be constantly misspelled and mispronounced. Is Rory better? That seems more like a boy spelling to me...Conflicted

The only Rory I ever knew was a boy and he was mercilessly teased about his name. Everyone would roar at him. I think it’s even worse on a girl. It’s so ugly.

I know plenty of Rorys that are boys and they have never been made fun off for it that I have ever see. Its kinda growing in popularity on girls as nn for Aurora and Lorelai

Aurora is pretty! I would keep Rory as a nick name. It’s like naming a kid Willy instead of William.

don’t listen to them Rory/Tory are pretty names you know what will suit you’re baby best, and more than anyone good luck with you’re beautiful little girl with such a beautiful name. by the way don’t take it to heart each to there own. these are ppl who name there kids opal, topaz, tiara, sailor, blaze, sheaphearder, im not kidding.

I would only use it as a nn for Aurora or Lorelei. Its a boys name no matter how its spelled and she will just get made fun of her whole life and have to correct people on her gender.

Rory is not a "boy's name". Nothing is specifically a "boy's name" because that is pointlessly gendered. I like Rorie, I might be going by that instead of Alex, but I'm not sure. Rorie and Rory are cute, but I prefer Rorie.
