Other spellings vs. For Sylvia

I LOVE the name Sylvia, but I don’t like the spelling. Is there any other spelling? I don’t want it to be made up since my name is Jesyka and I’ve been spelling it to everyone my whole life. I don’t want that for my daughter. Mainly I don’t like the Y in the middle of the name so I’ve thought about Silvia but I’m not sure if that’s good looking either. Any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! ~Jesy

I know a Silvia. Y’s don’t exist in all languages, so Silvia isn’t entirely uncommon. But I think Sylvia is slightly more common. But it’s nothing like Jesyka vs. Jessica.

Sylvia is the only way I know. If you don’t want her to have to spell it for people, you shouldn’t change it. It’s a pretty name!

Silvia could definitely work, but I think you would have to correct a lot of people. I think the ’y’ spelling looks perfectly pretty as it is. But if you really don’t like it, Silvia will be a fine option.

Sylvia and Silvia are both perfectly viable options. Choose whichever you like better.

Most people will spell her name Sylvia and SHE would have the same spelling corrections to constantly make to others. Use Sylvia- it is a beautiful name!
