Sorry but all of those middle names are not our style. We don’t like boy names for girls; we will probably be using a family name as a middle name. Nicknames are a little concerning about us; we’re not sure how cute "Zippy" or "Zippor" is

I think it sounds pretty and exotic. What does it mean if you don’t mind my asking?

So once I read this name I was very interested. I went on babynames.com and looked at the meaning and origin. It is Hebrew and means bird if anyone doesn’t know. I love the nickname Zip or Zippy, I don’t know why but that’s cute! At the same time, I mean all this with respect, really! But I would personally use it as a middle name. But hey if you love it that much, you need to do what makes you happy!

I’m pretty sure that they would use those middle names but if you and your husband would not be so upset by being called them yourselves then, perhaps, she won’t either. It’s hard to say but I can almost guarantee that someone will use one of those nicknames.
Otherwise, I think it’s nice.

Zipporah is a Hebrew, Biblical name meaning "bird"(However we have seen on some sites stating that it means beauty)

We really want to keep the middle name open for a family name since that’s always been something we want to do; honor a family member in the names of our children. We know Zipporah is kind of different, which is why we’re unsure about it right now.
Most likely, we will use Therese as a middle name but Elizabeth is also in the mix

So don’t let her be called by those nicknames. You could call her Zee. Or no nickname at all. I think it is a beautiful name. Good luck!

We would want to avoid nicknames if possible, unless she wants a nickname and then in that case we aren’t going to say no to her, since we feel like all the nicknames take away from the beauty of what we see in Zipporah

I think you might get away with using Zorah as a nn

Zorah is all right, but we still prefer the full sound of Zipporah. Neither of us are sure why, but we’ve never been fans of using nicknames. Like with long names such as Nathaniel, Benjamin, or Alexander we don’t like Nate/Nathan, Ben, or Alex; we prefer the full thing

I understand. I like long names as well. It just gets very tedious calling your child/ren repeatedly by a name with many syllables over and over! I have a Joshua and always call him Josh; it’s just quicker lol

Lovely name and I agree no nickname. I have never been a fan of nicknames either. My daughter is Abigail, not Abby.

Haha! I’m sure we’ll end up being the same way; she’s our first so I think in our minds we have an idea of what we think we will do but in reality it probably won’t be like that! With that being said, Zorah probably would be our number 1 nickname choice if we do use one

I’m glad you like Zorah! (I’m also the poster who has the son named Josh) I have 3 kids so when you’re constantly calling one of them for something you need to get their attention fast haha! I really do like Zipporah. It’s different and classy with a great meaning. And she won’t be one of 5 with the same name in her class :) Zorah would be a great nn if you do choose to go that route. All the best to you :)
