Names similar to Gypsy vs. Read Below

I have always loved the name Gypsy but I realize its not exactly usable so I am looking for some similar style girl names that are actually usable. If I could please get some help with this it would be wonderful or if you know of other sites with this style of name I would appreciate it. Also, I can’t use Gemma, it’s my sisters name. Thank you, Rosalyn

I don’t see why you couldn’t use Gypsy. People name their daughter’s Nessie (even though she’s not the Lochness Monster), so why can’t you name your daughter Gypsy. If you love it, use it. And Rose would be a cute middle name after yourself Rosalyn. Gypsy Rose.

I did a quick search for names that contained (yps) like in Gypsy because it’s a unique sound and the only other names that showed were Calypso and Lypsy.

I want something with the same feel as Gypsy but can still be a professional name. As much as I love Gypsy, I wouldnt use it as a first name, maybe a middle name but not a first.

Which part(s) of the name Gypsy do you like? Is it the ’G’ at the beginning, the ’y’ in the middle, the ’y’ at the end, the ’yp’, ’ps’, or the whole ’yps’? Just trying to get a feel for why/what about it you like, so I can get a better idea of which names similar names you’ll like:)

Just did a search for Roma names (you know, because gypsies are the Roma people), and I found a few interesting ones:
Aishe (EYE-sha, I think)
Dika
Esmeralda
Mala (I really like this one!)
Mirela
Nadya
Nuri
Simza (means joy)
Mahala
Aza
Rosella
Sabina

That’s just a quick search, but you may want to do some further research on Roma/Romani names. Hope that helps!

Asterisk

A lot of Romanian names are reminiscent of Gypsy to me... Like Clara, Daria, Elena, Livia, Loiza, Loredana, Magdalena, Marina, Mihaela, Ramona, Sonia, Tereza, etc... (Sorry, all the Romanian girl names I found ended with an ’a’)

Sorry, Asterisk was supposed to be Asteria.

Also, those were names I thought sounded like "Gypsy" names.
