Here is why you give your child a traditional spelling.
A. So they don’t have to spell it a million times in their lifetime.
B. So they can find cute little things with their names on them. Little kids love that and I know little ones that have odd names or odd spellings that get as because they can’t find the thing they want with their name on it.
C. You are taken more seriously in the job market if you have a correctly spelled name.

That’s supposed to say that they get upset

I agree with the first poster. Daphne is how it’ll be spelled 99% of the time anyway. No matter how you spell it, it’s still going to be Daphne.

Daphne is gorgeous but I only like this spelling. It’s an unusual name anyway, so I don’t think there’s any reason to mess with the spelling.

- If ask someone in US who has never heard of this name to pronounce "Daphne", they'll say "Daphn"
- ask the same thing from someone (who has never heard of it) in middle east and most of other countries, they'll say "Daphn-a" "Daphneh" ...
With our pronunciation rules in US, it should be Daphnie in or Daphnee or Dafnee or ... not Daphne .... in order to be pronounced Daphnie and not Daphn-a :))
