Gabi vs. Gaby vs. Gabby
Which spelling do you like the best for Gabriella’s nickname? Also, do you like the nickname Bella for this name? Brie is a cheese and I won’t use that as a nickname! Ella is cute but makes me think of an elephant so I don’t think I would use that either.

I like Gabby too. I wouldn’t think to get Bella out of this but I do hear of Brielle and that’s pretty.

I love the nickname Gaby...every little girl I know with this nn is super cute and bright. Also, not to be pretentious, but I believe Gaby is the normal spelling (every Gaby I’ve seen spells it this way). Good luck!

I knew a Gabriella who was European, and her nickname was Gaby, but with a long A.. gay-bee. I like Gabby better, and I guess that’s why I would have thought to use 2 bs, so as to distinguish from /gay-bee/ - but either way works.

Gabby seems the most sensible to me.
Beware, though -- if there are nn’s that you really dislike, those will always end up being the ones that your kid chooses to start calling herself when she’s 13. You soft little Bessie suddenly is Liz, ya know? And Liz always reminded you of Lez ( [removed] ) and now you want to tear your hair out.
That’s why I crossed several names off my list - just because I couldn’t stand some of the common nn’s.
I wonder if " [removed] " will be edited out. Let’s see...
