Finola vs. Fionnuala vs. Nola vs. Nuala
Which version do you like best of this irish girl name? Which fits best for an Irish-American baby girl in California? Fionnuala is pronounced fin-oo-la, Finola is pronounced fin-OH-la, Nuala is pronounced noo-la. And also, please suggest a similar spelling if you think one would be too hard to pronounce. Thanks!

Considering you live in the US, I would stick with Finola. It will have the least pronunciation and spelling issues. It’s a shame more people here have issues with irish names, so many of my loves will never be usable (Aoife & Caoimhe for example)

Nola! I do actually know a Nuala here in England! Never knew how to pronounce it though!

I think Finola and Nola would be the easiest for those in the US. I think Nuala would get pronounced in 3 syllables more often than not (Noo-AH-la). Similarly, I think Fionnuala would end up 5 syllables (Fee-oh-noo-ah-la). You could try more phonetic spellings (Finula, Nula) but somehow I think the names lose their charm with those spellings. And if the point of it is to be an Irish name, then that might matter.
