Full Names vs. For nickname Sonny

Hello! I’m looking for both boy and girl names that can be given the nickname Sonny. Sonny was my dad’s nickname because he was a Jr. If we have a boy I don’t want him to be a Jr. And if we have a girl I would still love her nickname to be Sonny. I know most names that will be suggested will end in -son and thats fine but I would like maybe something different that won’t end in -son. Thank you :)

My name is Sunny and isn’t a nickname. It always bothers me when people misspell my name and spell it Sonny because it looks like Sonny boy and it looks very in feminine to me. I think if you use it for a boy you could probably just give him the name Sonny. For a girl I would spell it Sunny instead of the O. Here are some name suggestions:
Sonja or Sonya
Alison
Madison
Sunday
Sunshine

I’d name your son whatever name you like best, and call him Sonny for short. For your daughter I’d name her Sunshine and call her Sunny.

Solange- angel of the sun (Sunny/ Sonny)

I know someone whose name is Susannah and they call her Sunny.
