Boys names vs. for middle name vs. Francis

Frances was my great-grandmother’s name and is both my grandmother and sister’s middle name. There are no boys with the name so I was thinking Francis would make a nice namesake for a boy. I am looking for a more underused first name to go with it. Please don’t suggest anything along the lines of Timothy Francis. Thanks for any help

I think that a name ending in an ’ee’ sound would go best with Francis.

I think Francis would be a fine middle name for your son. I have a first name that many people think is a name for a male. I have always hated that. I would be concerned your son will be targeted for having a female name. I am a female that enjoys makeup, and manicures. I often get negative comments for a name that is masculine. Your son would have it even worse and will blame you for giving him a girlie name. I think the name Frans is a good option for a male, and would make a nice middle name. Good luck!

The poll poster said that it was an important name to her, and Francis is a boy name. If she were using Frances or Francine that would be different. Besides, it is a middle name, it will hardly be used.
