Price vs. Pryce vs. For a girl

Hello my husband and I found this name for a little girl by accident. Price/Pryce is of welsh origin and means enthusiasm. We love it! What are some middle name ideas and thoughts on it? We get the whole price tag comment so please nix that one. I do not feel it’s a trashy name for a girl. Thank you

It is not that it is trashy, but it is a bad idea. Seriously. I am a teacher, and I have heard how cruel kids can be when teasing about names. I can hear it now, Price check on aisle one... Don’t do it!

She would might also hear:
What’s the price on your head, Are you on sale?

Hearing that name on a kid makes it sound like the child is the price the parents paid for something. I really don’t like that connotation.

Thank you for giving us real reasons rather than I don’t like it, it’s trashy. We will keep those in mind. I’m actually thinking of using it as a middle name tho.

It’s actually a boys name, and only loosely based on the meaning you have listed, as it is a variant of Rhys, and not a great name.
Price p-ri-ce as a boy’s name is of Old French origin, and the meaning of Price is "prize". Also possibly derived from a German tribe, the Prusen, who gave their name to Prussia, or may have originated from Rhys (Welsh) "enthusiasm".

Middle name= fine, first name= no. Too many teasing possibilities, and I find it very masculine. It follows the boys names/surname trend, but I think it would be better at the middle name spot/

I really like the name Pryor for a girl.

I like Pryce okay but I think Jayce or Bryce are a little nicer.

You said to not mention the price tag thing, but when I hear Price/Pryce, I think of the amount of something, and when on a girl, I think it could possibly be seen as a prostitute sort of thing. So yes, I do find it a bit trashy for that reason. Bryce might be an option, as it’s really similar but doesn’t have the same associations as Pryce.

Yes, it sounds like an accident. I wouldn’t use this name.

My name is Lisa Price and I think having it as a first name is a lovely idea. Not once at school was I bullied about my name. No "price tag" or "price is right". Yes, the name is Welsh and can mean enthusiasm - but if you go back to it's origin then it means 'son-of-Rhys' - it isn't another name for Rhys.

My middle name is Price, and I've always hated it, heard all the 'what's the price?' comments. Never anything prostitute related though thankfully. Haha.
