Alana vs. Alahna vs. Alanna

Hey everyone! I think I’m finally convincing my husband to name our baby girl the name I have fallen in love with! There are about a million different ways to spell it so I’d like your advice on the best spelling :-) Keep in mind: It will be pronounced uh-la-nuh NOT uh-layne-uh. I want the best spelling for her NOT to be called Alaina :-) - Alana -Alahna -Alanna -Alanah -Alannah -Allana -Allahna Thanks!

Just to throw in another spelling, sorry if I’m making it more confusing to decide. I know someone who spells is Alauna. I think that is the best way to spell it so it gets pronounced correctly. Alana, Alannah, or Alanna may be mispronounced. If you want one of the spellings you listed I would got with one of the 3 I just mentioned, the others look like mis-spelled, made-up spellings.

I would spell it like Alannah....there should be no confusion as to how to pronounce her name

I like the Alonna spelling best because it seems the least likely to get mispronounce. I voted for Alanna but now that I’m thinking about it some people might mispronounce that spelling like the way Hannah sounds.

Alahna is certainly the most phonetic way. Alana would be how I would personally spell it, but I do think it would be mistaken for Uh-lay-nuh quite often. Perhaps Alawna? I wouldn’t do anything with two N’s because then it looks like Uh-lan-uh.

My little cousin spells it Alanna & that is my personal favorite way :) that or Alannah!
