I know a Chasity. I think it’s pretty, but I prefer Cassidy.

I don’t like the meaning of it because it will cause teasing especially with the belt. Chastity is the original spelling. I agree with the previous poster about Cassidy is a better choice.

Chastity and Chasity are both no-go’s, IMO. With either one, really, do you want people constantly having little thoughts about your daughter’s sexual status? And with Chasity, it just looks like the parents not only were unwise about that, but also couldn’t spell. Cassidy is a way better name. Or if you like virtue names, how about Felicity? I’d rather have people thinking "I wonder if that girl is actually sad" rather than "I wonder if that girl is really a h0."

Am I correct you’re asking what chastity means? It generally means sexual abstinence. You know, not having sex. It would be a very difficult name for a girl to have from age, oh, 10 onward -- once the other kids found out what that name meant, they’d always be looking for reasons to snicker about it.

I heard the name a few times I think it sounds pretty but idk if Id ever use it.

Unfortunately, most people associate the term with abstinence only despite its fuller meaning; it could refer to keeping the marriage bed chaste (pure and undefiled) by only having sexual relations between the husband and the wife, no extra-marital affairs, no other lovers on the side. It would be equivalent to Loyalty, Fidelity.

My names chasity and I think its an 'ok' name...I just hate how people pronounce it,They said my name "Chastity" and it means something bad..And for everyone saying "oH tHeRe PaReNtS doNt KnOw HoW tO sPeLl" No its not that they dont know how to spell,they just dont want there children to get bullied by the name (Well thats why my mom named me Chasity with one T) and it also sounds a bit weird...And alot of people have boring names like Lilly or Kayla ect,Our name is unique and not boring! My name is Chastity and I think it is a beautiful name. People give it negative notions but you shouldn't listen to them. Chastity is a pure, sensitive person regarding all experiences. They are also strong women and work well with people. Chastity's are affectionate, loving, and are at their best with other people.

I know a real trashy girl named Chasity. I dont think her parents onee the meaning or hiw to spell the real word. If they knew the meaning, they were being sarcastic , because she has sex with anyone who will have her. She curses like a sailor. The name does not mean STRONG WOMAN. Thats ridiculius.

I honestly believe it's because alot of people are bad spellers and are lazy. So much so that it caught on.

My name is Chastity and I will tell you growing up with the name was the cause of many tears from the teasing. As an adult I don't mind it as much but over all if I knew it wouldn't offend my parents to the point of possibly not talking to me I would change my name in a heart beat. Please stop and think about what people are going to do to your child before you name them. The worlds a cruel place already no need to make it harder.
