its cute but too cute, like a puppy name. what about , Lucille nn Lucy.

Lacey is always used as sort of a dim wit, dork in movies so that is my first impression, and probably most others. But if you like it go for it...however when you say your daughters name, people will have to do a double take. What about Lucy?? You could also name her Luciana and call her Lacey as a nickname.

It’s very childish and possibly "show girl." Sounds like a stripper or porn star. You have to think about Lacey’s future. With that name, how will she grow up? Will her job be affected? If she gets a high position or starts her own company, can you forsee a "Lacey" in charge?

Maybe Lacey a middle name or nickname. It sounds like a cutesy name for "Lace." You know...the word.

It always sounded too much like "lazy" to me... lol :P

I really think Lacey is a very nice name. It has a very nice ring to it that can’t be ruined by some showgirls. Good Luck with little Lacey.

As long as you raise her to be a respectable young woman, people won’t think of strippers when they meet her. If you like it, go for it!

i like the spelling of it too, i think it’s more respectable than "Lacee" which people are useing now.

Yeah, kinda think of a ditsy girl. My rule of thumb for naming my kids was thinking of all the different possible careers that they may have and see if it sounds appropriate throughout their lives.

I know a lot of people are saying that Lacey sounds like a show girl name.

BUT. Even though I really don’t like that name, I am going to defend it by saying this.

As the parents of this wonderful child, you are going to be the one who knows her the best out of ANYONE. What do you guys like? If you like Lacey, prove these people wrong. Raise a bright, intelligent, respectable daughter named Lacey. It’d completely break this awful Lacey steriotype. Who knows, maybe your daughter named LACEY will become the first female president, or a brilliant inventor, or an acclaimed author. It’s not the name that makes the person, it’s the person that makes the name!

I love Lacey! I think it’s really pretty. I definitely do not think of a trashy girl. I agree with you that it’s adorable and feminine. I know several people named Lacey and I think it works great on a child and an adult. I totally agree with the pp that it’s the person that makes the name. I think it’s silly that people would write off a person becuase of a name or say that they can’t imagine it being used in a professional setting or a president with that name, etc.. How on earth would her name impact her as a person in charge? That’s ridiculous. That says more about them than it does about the personal with the name they dislike.
