Nickname for vs. Gideon
Our boy Gideon is only 3 months old, but soon people will probably start wanting to give him a nickname. We don’t like Giddy, so we would like to offer up a nickname before people start calling him Giddy. Ultimately, we will call him Gideon 95% of the time, but we would like to have a nickname we like lined up for school, extended family etc.

My nephew is named Gideon and a lot of people call him Eon, pronounced Ian.

If you always call him Gideon, other people will too. Don’t feel like you need to come up with a nickname for other people to use. Simply tell them his name is Gideon. My name is Nicole and growing up lots of people tried to call me Nikki. I simply said "my name is Nicole" and that solved the problem quickly. Gideon is a handsome name in it’s own right, no need to change it. :)
