How do people pronounce these names: Anna and Ana. I always thought of Anna as Anne-uh and Ana as Ahn-uh, but people have been saying lately you can pronounce both names either way. Please also point out the country you are from, since that might play a big part in pronunciations.

I live in the USA and I think you could technically pronounce both names either way. But I tend to agree with you that Anna is usually pronounced Ann-uh and Ana is generally pronounced Ahn-uh.

Another U.S.-er here. I tend to say, "ANN-uh" for both spellings. But if a Spanish speaker introduced herself as "AH-nuh" then I would respect that.
There are a lot of Russian / Eastern European immigrants where I live. Sometime Anna is pronounced "AH-nuh" although it’s more often somewhere in between "ANN-uh" and "AH-nuh." But yeah, "ANN-uh" is my go-to pronunciation for them all. Good luck! :0)

Ana- Ah-na
Anna-Ann-a
It doesn't matter if you speak English, or Spanish. I speak English, & still pronounce them correctly.

My name is Anna, and I honestly do not like it when people call me Ann-uh. My name is pronounced Ahn-a. My name is pronounced like the Disney character from Frozen.

Ana is ah-nuh
anna is ann-uh
of course, other languages and countries pronounce everything differently, but in western english, this is the correct pronunciation. pronouncing anna as ah-nuh is phonetically incorrect in the american english language. as someone who studies english as a major, this mispronunciation is frustrating, and even sometimes disrespectful given the circumstances. they are not interchangeable because different phonetic rules apply to them. they are to be pronounced differently. yes, frozen gets this incorrect. although, the location can differ the pronunciation. however, being written and spoken in the typical american english language still warrants criticism over the obvious difference between the two. anna isn't ah-nuh. the first 'n' creates an 'an' sound, similar to the determiner 'an' when using before a noun. it's literally 'an-nuh'. ana is spoken differently because there is no second 'n'. the single 'a' alone gives an 'ah' sound, followed by "nuh". like i said previously, other languages and countries are not being referenced here. i am only talking about the western english language spoken predominantly in the united states.

My name is Juliana. Pronounced julie-ane-uh. Not julie-awn-uh. I'm named after my Grandma Juliana. I simply and politely correct people if it's mispronounced. I realize that it's very confusing. Especially when families 'americanize' European names.

I have a 5 month old baby who I've named Viviana and spelled it that way in hopes that people would understand it's ahna not annuh in pronunciation but people still get it wrong or get it right pronunciation wise but spell it with two n's. All I can say is good thing we calm her Vivi as a nickname. 😂

My name is Anna I'm pronounced Oh-uh. Like I'm On uh roll. I tell people my name and they turn around and call me Ann-uh. That's so annoying. I didn't tell that was my name. I have to correct people several times before they get it. Then they tell me that Anna and Anna are the same. To which I say their name, example Tim. So I say Tim, Tom they're the same. That usually works to get my name pronounced correctly.
