Spelling question? For the name vs. Tye

I love the name Tye...I know its a short name but I have a long last name. I don’t want to name him Tyler, Tyson, Tynan, etc. The problem is everyone is saying I should spell it Ty including my husband. I just don’t like that spelling...the first person I knew named Tye spelled it this way so that is the way I see the name...also I think of those beanie babies tags when I see Ty. What do you think of the spelling Tye?

My intial thought was like a pp... I thought of Tye-Dye... Ty reminds me of beanie babies as well... I guess no matter what you choose, it will remind someone of something

Why is Tye so weird to people? It’s an English name. Ty is just a nick name for names like Tyler, Tyra, etc.

Well, i think it just seems weird to me because of the added "e". But if thats what you like go for it :)

Tye does remind me of Tye-Dye. One of my nephew’s names is Ty. Everyone loves it, it’s not short for anything. The Beanie Baby thing doesn’t ever cross my mind when I hear his name. I just think of a loveable and wonderful three-year-old boy. It’s a great and masculine name that will grow with him, you won’t regret this decision. Good luck!

Ok well I guess I will have to think about it some more...husband likes Ty, I like Tye...the connection with tye-dye doesn’t bother me, I love tye-dye but not sure my son will..haha. I’ll have to get some more opinions from the rest of the family. Thanks guys

You could spell it Ty, Tye, or Thai, I think Tye is just fine. I love the name, it’s cute and masculine.

Ty is more masculine than Tye, IMO

Tye looks silly, IMO. Ty looks like a nickname and doesn’t remind me at all of Beany Babies since that was T.Y. and not the name. I love Thai as a full name. It’s lovely and different but spelled correctly.

Tye looks a bit feminine, don’t you think?
